Last year, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly declared the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (2024-2033). Until 31 December this year, there is the opportunity to submit initiatives, projects and programmes to implement the objectives of the International Decade by filling in an online questionnaire.

With the International Decade, the UN General Assembly underlines the importance of science in promoting sustainable development and ensuring a secure and prosperous future for all.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) coordinates the implementation of the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (2024-2033). UNESCO invites member states, policymakers, public institutions, science and research centres, higher education institutions, non-governmental organisations and the public to participate in the International Decade and to organise activities, initiatives and projects at different levels that promote research and scientific cooperation and contribute to the achievement of the sustainable development objectives.
