Conference on Behaviour Change for Improving Public Health in Latvia to be held in Riga in October
The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Institute of Public Health in collaboration with Baltic Communication Partners invites everyone interested to attend the conference Behaviour Change for Improving Public Health in Latvia, which will take place on 13 October at Riga Islande Hotel in Riga, 2 Ķīpsalas iela. The event will start at 10.00, registration is open from 9.30.
Behaviour change can have a significant impact not only on individuals’ lives, but also on the health of society as a whole. It can increase healthy life expectancy, which in Latvia is among the lowest in the EU at 54 years for men and 55 years for women. By promoting health literacy and a desire to improve quality of life, we can reduce mortality associated with lifestyle factors, including smoking.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear from Latvian and international health experts. They will present on subjects like the causes of addiction, tools to reduce addiction from primary prevention to treatment, opportunities to change smoking behaviour in Latvia and its practical implementation in the UK and Lithuania.
