On Monday, March 10, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Pharmaceutical Education and Research Centre hosted a meeting of the heads of the Ministry of Health’s subordinate institutions and structural units. The visit was attended by the Minister for Health, Hosams Abu Meri.

At the start of the meeting, RSU Rector, Prof. Aigars Pētersons, and the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dace Bandere, introduced the Minister for Health and other participants to the centre, its laboratories, and state-of-the-art research equipment.

Abu Meri highly appreciated the opportunities that the RSU Pharmaceutical Education and Research Centre offers students and researchers and provided insights into the latest developments within the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Latvia.

During the meeting, participants discussed the progress that has been made in establishing the Centre for Methodology Development and Guidance in Family Medicine and assessed strategic goals in the context of primary healthcare. Subsequently, institutional leaders deliberated on ways to enhance collaboration with family doctors and improve overall service accessibility for the population.
