RSU Assoc. Prof. Oļegs Sabeļņikovs Receives Award from the Professional Association of German Anaesthesiologists

On 14 September, the Professional Association of German Anaesthesiologists (Berufsverband Deutscher Anästhesisten) awarded the Gold Badge to Oļegs Sabeļņikovs, Associate Professor at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Medicine, Head of the Department of Clinical Skills and Medical Technologies, and Vice President of the Association of Anaesthesiologists-Reanimatologists of Latvia. The award was presented in Berlin at the opening of the HAI2022 conference.

The Gold Badge is a prestigious award that the Professional Association of German Anaesthesiologists presents for significant contributions to the development of the specialty of anaesthesiology.

In 2021, Assoc. Prof. Sabeļņikovs was elected President of the Anaesthesiology Section of the European Union of Medical Specialists. The section’s strategic aim is to improve the quality of anaesthesiologists' work on the level of the EU by coordinate resident training, and improving patient safety and working conditions for anaesthesiologists.
