The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Convent of Councillors provided an assessment of the 2020 budget proposal on 10 December 2019. The members of the Convent saw positive growth in RSU's financial situation and approved the budget for the coming year.

After listening to the report on the budget proposal for 2020, delivered by RSU Rector Prof. Aigars Pētersons, the members of the Convent had a positive assessment of RSU’s financial situation and plans for development stressing that RSU is ‘a center for the solidification of higher education’.

RSU expresses its special gratitude to Juris Lācis, Chairman of the Board of the North Kurzeme Regional Hospital, and investment expert Ģirts Rungainis for their in-depth analysis of the budget.

The RSU Convent of Councillors is an advisory institution whose principal task is to advise the RSU Senate and the Rector on matters pertaining to the university’s development strategy. The Convent of Councillors is composed of external experts and employers, including the chairs of the board of the largest Latvian hospitals and enterprises.

To foster the university’s development, RSU has established regular and constructive cooperation with employers and industry representatives. External experts and employers regularly provide their assessment and put forward proposals on the development of study programmes and research.
