From 10 to 12 December, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Career Centre organised several well-being events, a yoga class, and workshops to provide staff and students with the opportunity to take care of physical and mental well-being and reduce stress.
December has long been associated with peace and quiet with loved ones, but this pre-holiday spirit is often overwhelmed by the stress of end-of-year work and exams.
Creative and physical activities have been scientifically proven to improve mental well-being and reduce stress.
That’s why the RSU Career Centre invited students and staff to join in one of their Christmas workshops. It was an opportunity to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and embrace the festive spirit through creative activities in a relaxed atmosphere, complete with tea, gingerbread, and music. Together, participants created yarn mandalas, collages, straw mobiles, and beautiful embroidered Christmas cards.
Approximately 80 students and staff took part in the Christmas workshops. ‘This was the first time we held a yoga class, but the second year for the Christmas workshops. Interest from both students and staff continues to grow,’ said Lelde Kozilāne, Manager of the RSU Career Centre.
