RSU Clinic of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy organises Emotional Health Week
Marking World Mental Health Day, which this year falls on on 10 October, the RSU Clinic of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy annually hosts a number of events with the objective of improving mental health. This year, Emotional Health Week will be held from 7 to 11 October with the theme 'Creativity and Mental Health'.
On Wednesday, 9 October, the clinic will host an event titled 'Creativity and Mental Health. Music as a Tool to Improve Mental Health.' The event will be opened by physicians from the clinic who will conduct a lecture on the significance of creative activities to promote mental health. After the lecture, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a creative class by piano player Artūrs Cingujevs. He is a winner of numerous international competitions and a piano teacher. Cingujevs encourages everyone to engage with music, including adults, as listening to and playing music can improve emotional wellbeing. The event will be followed by discussions and conversations.
From 7 to 11 October, physicians from the clinic will provide free psychotherapy consultations via Skype. Thus, everyone can have the opportunity to receive a consultation with a specialist, including those residing outside Latvia who are unable to attend a consultation in person. An online consultation is a good alternative to a face-to-face consultation.
Emotional Health Week events are free.
