RSU to extend clinical study centre at Riga East University Hospital
Strengthening ties between cooperation partners Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and Rīga East University Hospital on Thursday 17 May RSU Rector Prof. Aigars Pētersons, Vice-Rector for Health Studies Prof. Guntis Bahs and Vice-Rector for Administration and Development Toms Baumanis, together with the new chairman of the board of the hospital, Imants Paeglītis and board member Kaspars Plūme visited the RSU clinical study centre. Representatives of the university and the hospital were informed about the centre as it stands today and were positive in their appraisal of its development.
RSU signed an additional agreement with Riga East University Hospital regarding further expansion of the clinical study centre. RSU plans to renovate and fully equip additional premises for the acquisition of theoretical as well as clinical courses. This will further strengthen clinical teaching at RSU with its research capacity.
RSU clinical study centre was opened on 19 May 2017. It is the most modern and extensive RSU study centre in the largest multi-profile healthcare institution in Latvia, and renovations of the new premises are scheduled to be completed in 2019.
