RSU extends cooperation with Daugavpils University, Medical College and Regional Hospital

On Tuesday 12 December, the Rector of Rīga Stradiņš University, Prof. Aigars Pētersons, together with the Vice-Rector for Health Studies, Prof. Guntis Bahs and the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Inga Millere, went on a working visit to Daugavpils University, Daugavpils Medical College and Daugavpils Regional Hospital.   

The constructive talks included discussion of a cooperation plan among both universities, the college and the hospital. The parties involved plan to implement joint study programmes, conduct research, utilise scientific infrastructure at Daugavpils University both for research to be jointly conducted by both universities, and for increasing the diagnostic potential of Daugavpils Regional Hospital.

The RSU rector, together with colleagues familiarised themselves with the infrastructure of studies, equipment and experience of the college. The visit concluded with a visit to Daugavpils Regional Hospital, where a meeting was held with board members and administration of the hospital. This meeting marked the practical direction of mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as the further practical steps for cooperation.
