For RSU Employees

In October, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), the RSU Alumni Association and the Boris and Inara Teterev Foundation green lit 14 targeted scholarships for lecturers to work on modernising study courses over the next four months. Teaching staff from both the social sciences and health care study directions presented innovative solutions for various courses to a scholarship committee in order to facilitate learning and enhance the pleasure that students’ can get from their studies.

The scholarships are intended to develop innovative courses, improve existing courses by integrating the appropriate methodological solutions, as well as by increasing the number of visiting lecturers at RSU, which promotes international experience exchange.

‘Thanks to the support of the Boris and Inara Teterev Foundation, RSU continues to develop year by year. It is a real pleasure to see such a large group of lecturers who really care about the quality of studies and who are ready to get involved and work to improve the courses,’

says Artūrs Kaļva, the Executive Director of the RSU Alumni Association and a member of the scholarship committee.

This year's recipients focus on integrating the opportunities that the H5P tool offers into the study process. With the tool you can create different digitally simulated scenarios that can be integrated equally well into both social sciences and health-care study programmes. Digitally simulated scenarios help students familiarise themselves with real-life situations related to the profession they are learning. This trains their decision-making skills, which is particularly useful currently as all studies are being conducted remotely.

We are pleased with how actively lecturers are getting involved in modernising the courses and we invite members of the teaching staff to apply for the next round of scholarships. Applications will open soon.
