RSU recognised for contribution to Erasmus+ mobility
On 8 December the State Education Development Agency of Latvia (SEDA) hosted a festive event to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Erasmus+ and to announce the winners of the annual Erasmus+ Quality in Mobility Award “Spārni”. Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) was presented with a recognition certificate and an award for professional contribution and successful cooperation in the implementation of Erasmus+ mobility.
As recognized by the Director of the International Department (ID) Baiba Pētersone, “The award came as a pleasant and unexpected surprise! We are glad that the state agency has appreciated our contribution to Erasmus+. We must recognise that this is a reciprocal appreciation as we truly value our cooperation with SEDA colleagues.”
“After transformation of the Erasmus mobility programme in 2014, RSU has considerably increased its participation in the mobility activities. We have successfully participated in various Erasmus competitions. The International Department has made a significant contribution towards enhancement of the mobility options for RSU academics, staff, undergraduates and postgraduates. In addition to the intra EU mobility, since 2015 we also participate in mobility activities with non-EU countries and implement various strategic partnership projects under Erasmus+. The guest lectures by Erasmus+ visiting lecturers at RSU are becoming more frequent and the number of incoming students is growing with each year. It means that RSU has a strong international reputation in the context of Erasmus+,” she said.
The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education was awarded to RSU in 2003. Presently RSU is proud of a global network of over 150 partner universities.
The European Commission and the State Education Development Agency of Latvia have recently published several calls for the upcoming Erasmus+ mobility activities.
