Tackling the Realities of Ageing: Insights from SHARE at RSU Research Week
This year, the SHARE project played a crucial role in RSU Research Week 2025, contributing to the "Society, Health and Welfare" conference, which focused on a life-course approach to health. The third day of the conference was dedicated specifically to the challenges and implications of ageing populations.
A keynote by Professor Agnieszka Chłoń-Domińczak, Deputy Managing Director of SHARE-ERIC, addressed key questions surrounding ageing, health, and resilience in Europe. Her talk, 'Health of Older Europeans – Learning from SHARE Data,' revealed significant cross-country differences in ageing outcomes, demonstrating that age alone does not determine health. The SHARE survey highlights how socioeconomic background, policy environments, and health behaviours shape quality of life and retirement expectations across Europe.
