SHARE Latvia researchers present results internationally
This month, the results of several SHARE Latvia studies were presented to international scientific audiences.
The SHARE user conference in Berlin featured a presentation on health inequalities in the Baltic and Nordic countries, prepared by Madara Miķelsone, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) PhD student, and researcher Ieva Reine, with a special focus on the impact of sociodemographic and childhood factors. The aim of the conference was to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, using the SHARE database, and to analyse health and ageing tendencies globally.
At this year's European Public Health Conference, which brought together 3000 delegates from around the world, researcher Ieva Reine presented the results of several studies, including on participation of elderly people in the labour market, adaptation of workplaces and health, as well as loneliness and social isolation during COVID-19 pandemic in the Baltic and Nordic countries.
Aija Bukova-Židelūna chaired a session on changes in public health at the European Public Health Conference and presented data on frailty and fear of falling among seniors in Latvia analysed as part of a postdoctoral grant*.
