Three RSU Lecturers Receive Highest Latvian State Decoration

According to a decision by the President of Latvia and the Chapter of Orders on 17 October 2022, the highest state decoration was bestowed on 81 people this year. Among them are three lecturers from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) – lecturer Mārtiņš Malzubris, Associate Professor Aldis Lieljuksis, and Professor Emeritus Ilze Bārene.
State decorations are presented to those citizens who have served their country and its people through exceptional and selfless professional and social work, thus contributing to the development of Latvia.
- Mārtiņš Malzubris, traumatologist and orthopaedist, lecturer at the Department of Orhopaedics at the RSU Faculty of Medicine, Head of the Traumatology Centre (Unit No 4) at the Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedics, was appointed an Officer of the Order of the Three Stars;
- Associate Professor Aldis Lieljuksis from the RSU Faculty of Law became an Officer of the Cross of Recognition;
- Professor emeritus Ilze Bārene, PhD, was appointed a Commander of the Cross of Recognition.

The award ceremony is scheduled for the 104th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, on 18 November, at 15.30 at the Riga Castle.
