A year of growth: Advancing study programmes and research at the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences
This February marks one year since the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences was established. It was formed by merging the Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare and the Faculty of Rehabilitation.
A heartfelt congratulations to our colleagues on the faculty’s first anniversary!
‘This has been a very dynamic year of intensive growth. We have carried out extensive internal consolidation and restructuring, taken over the implementation of several study programmes, and actively participated, and continue to participate,in the external consolidation process with the RSU Latvian Academy of Sport Education (LASE). Our study programmes are experiencing a restart and development in a new context.
We are proud to offer 11 unique study programmes in Latvia! This summer, we plan to welcome students to two new, innovative study programmes – Advanced Practice Nursing and Digital Health. These programmes will help supply much-needed specialists in these fields.
A key feature of this past year has been research and integrating it into academic work – studies have continued, expanded interdisciplinarily, and been closely linked to the study process wherever possible.’Prof. Inga Millere,
Dean, RSU Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences
