This autumn’s RSU Open Days series for international students commenced
The RSU Open Days series has recommenced at Rīga Stradiņš University with the aim to inform students about study opportunities offered by RSU in English. Each month prospective students and their parents from various countries visit RSU and take part in this event, organised by the RSU International Department.
Around 30 potential students from Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Italy participated in this autumn’s first Open Days event. They listened to the presentation about RSU and study programmes offered in English, followed by an informal Q&A session. After this visitors were invited on a tour of the RSU main building and student hostel. Later they also visited the RSU Medical Education Technology Centre and pre-clinical dental training centre. Finally, prospective students had an opportunity to get individual consultations about admissions criteria, application for studies and life in Rīga. During RSU Open Days visitors are welcomed not only by university representatives, but also current RSU international students who share their experience.
“For the past three years RSU Open Days have become a significant and popular event promoting the attraction of international students. This event provides an opportunity for prospective students and their parents to take a glance at student life at RSU. We have noticed the trend for prospective students to choose RSU as their university after participating in this event,” said the Head of International Admissions Office, Māris Ginters.
Two Open Days events for international students are scheduled this year – on 26 October and 30 November. In addition to the Open Days, the RSU International Department organises RSU Information Days in Latvian embassies abroad.
Currently, prospective students are welcome to submit their applications for RSU English-taught study programmes offered in the spring semester. Learn more about admissions criteria and procedures here.
