On 7 December, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Convent of Councillors reviewed and accepted RSU's budget for the coming year at a meeting that took place at the RSU Anatomy Museum.

RSU Rector, Professor Aigars Pētersons gave an overview of how the 2021 budget has been implemented and presented the 2022 budget proposal and the priorities outlined within it.

Financial experts from the Convent of Councillors reviewed the budget and gave their comments. Juris Lācis, Member of the Convent and Chairman of the Board of the North Kurzeme Regional Hospital, is of the opinion that next year’s budget prioritises growth and that RSU's financial situation is stable.

The RSU Convent of Councillors is an advisory institution whose principal task is to advise the RSU Senate and the Rector on matters pertaining to the university’s development strategy. The members of the Convent of Councillors are elected for the term of three years in an open vote by the RSU Senate. Being a member of the Convent of Councillors is an honoured tradition. The work of the Convent is chaired by the President elected by the Senate.
