Many Eye-Catching Titles Among Poster Submissions for Covid-19 Conference

We are happy to announce that we have received 135 poster applications for this year’s COVID-19 Conferences, including 20 from abroad.

Even though the common theme of the conference is COVID-19, it is extraordinary to see the diversity of topics presented in these posters. The topics range from questions of clinical medicine like the presenting characteristics of severely ill COVID-19 patients and medicines used to treat infections, to issues that deal with the social impact of the pandemic, e.g., the right to fair trial, emotional well-being, and changes in university teaching methods.

For a taste some of the exciting content that our participants will be sharing on 28 and 29 April, here are some highlights from the submissions that are particularly eye-catching: the clinical and scientific reports include studies of cutting-edge technologies like “Extracorporeal blood purification with cytokine-absorbing hemofilter in severe COVID-19 patients”, as well as clinical observations like “Cardiovascular involvement in multisystemic inflammatory syndrome in children”.

A major part of the posters covers public health issues, like “The quality of care in general practice in Latvia during the COVID-19 pandemic” and “Relationship between vaccination intention and the health belief model constructs during the COVID-19 pandemic”.

This has been a rough time for medical students as well, and the study “Anatomy teaching in the time of COVID-19: plastic physical models vs. digital models?” emphasises the challenges of remote education that we have learned to endure.

The past two years have seen a rise in the application of innovative technologies, one of which is presented in “Monitoring of critically ill COVID-19 patients on mechanical lung ventilation using breath sensor technology”.

Practical clinicians will be able to enjoy a collection of over 20 reports of intriguing clinical cases: a couple of exciting ones include “The management of multiple pregnancy (triplets) with severe COVID-19 infection” and “Pneumomediastinum in COVID-19 patients”.
