RSU advances AI education and innovation with new Research Week conference and master's programme
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is driving the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and innovation education in Latvia with new study programmes and a dedicated AI conference at its biennial international event, Research Week. This year, RSU Research Week will take place from 24 to 28 March and will feature the new international conference Innovation and Artificial Intelligence: The Path from Research to Practice, focusing on AI and innovation in healthcare. From 26 to 27 March, the international conference Innovation and Artificial Intelligence: The Path from Research to Practice will bring together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore AI’s impact on medicine, healthcare, and society. The event will be held at the RSU Pharmaceutical Education and Research Centre, 21 Konsula iela, Rīga.
On 26 March, the theme "Transforming Healthcare: The Role of Innovation in Shaping the Future" will focus on the latest advancements in medicine, digital health, and patient-centred care, as well as the role of innovation in healthcare.
On 27 March, the focus will shift to "Bridging the Gap: From AI Research to Real-World Impact", where experts from academia, industry, and the public sector will examine how AI transitions from research to practical applications in healthcare, business, and society.
New master’s programme launched this autumn
In September 2025, RSU will introduce Digital Strategies and Artificial Intelligence Management, Latvia’s first master’s programme designed to equip high-level managers with the skills to implement AI and digital strategies in business and public administration. The programme will be delivered in a modular format to accommodate working professionals, with lecturers from Latvia’s AI and data analytics industry as well as guest experts from across Europe.
Both the AI conference and the new master's programme underline RSU’s commitment to becoming a leading hub for education and innovation in the Baltics, fostering cutting-edge technologies and strengthening collaboration between science, industry, and the public sector.
