The championship series is played until one team wins three matches. Following this strong start, we invite you to come and support the team in the next match on Thursday, 17 April at 20:00!

The third game is scheduled for 21 April at 16:00.

According to Volejbols.lv, RSU/MSĢ’s starting lineup featured team captain Agija Ankevica, Anna Kovala, Katrīna Struka, Karmena Struka, Elvita Dolotova, and Anželika Ivanova, with libero players Megija Grundmane and Alvīne Krumholce.

Ankevica led the winners with 26 points, including four from blocks. Katrīna Struka added 16 points, while Karmena Struka contributed 13 points, three of which came from blocks.
For Mārupes SC, Jeļizaveta Morozova—who attempted 59 attacks—scored 25 points. Liene Šimkuse followed with 16 points, including three from blocks and three from service aces. Setter Sanda Visočanska scored 9 points, with two coming from blocks, two from serves, and five from successful attacks out of twelve attempts.

Both teams' setters, Dolotova and Visočanska, were named Most Valuable Players of the match.

‘It went exactly as expected — Mārupes SC came to win, not just to play,’ said RSU/MSĢ head coach Inga Ikauniece after the game. ‘They played with determination and challenged us throughout. We didn’t fully execute the tasks we had prepared, so we’ll need to work on a few things in the coming days. Still,

within our team, whenever one player struggled, another stepped up, took the lead, and played with confidence to secure the win.’

‘When we defended well or received the serve effectively, we were able to launch quick attacks against a single block, which immediately translated into points. It was crucial to maintain good reception so that our setter wouldn’t have to work from poor situations,’ she added.
