They also visited a number of universities: Riga Technical University (RTU), RTU Riga Business School, RSU, the Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies, as well as Riga Graduate School of Law. The agenda of the visit also included meetings with representatives from business and the non-governmental sector: the Moldovan delegation got acquainted with the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre’s National Population Genome Database, the Latvian Information Technology Cluster, LMT, and the virtual production studio LED Unit.

The delegation included Iurie Turcanu, the Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalisation, representatives of the e-Government Agency, universities, and the non-governmental sector.

The Moldovan delegation's visit to Latvia was organised by the Future Technologies Activity (FTA) of Moldova and Riga Business School, a structural unit of RTU. FTA was founded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida). It aims to promote the competitiveness of the Moldovan technology sector. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the delegation to Latvia’s achievements in the field of innovation and digitalisation at the academic, sectoral, and policy level. Cooperation between these parties in the field of innovation is an essential prerequisite for successful cross-sectoral excellence.
