From 27 to 29 April, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will host the 6th International Scientific Conference ‘Health and Personality Development: an Interdisciplinary Approach’. A pre-conference workshop will take place on 26 April. The conference is organised by the Department of Health Psychology and Paedagogy of the RSU Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare.

Main conference themes: Interframe-lv research results; visual data and its application in research; modelling – contemporary challenges in data processing; current psychometric models; digital interventions for developing psychological aid and health literacy; psychological research and evaluation in various client and patient groups; psychological aid and support working with different groups of clients and patients; types of self-help; professional competence and its development; professional identity.

Pre-conference workshop held on 26 April will be dedicated to contemporary research: visual data and its use in research; the Rasch model of psychometric techniques.

The conference will feature three plenary sessions held on 27 April, during which guest lecturers will highlight current research topics within the context of psychological assessment and assistance including SEM modelling, visual data and its use in research, current psychometric models and digital interventions.

At the plenary session held on 28 April, the guest lecturer will give a presentation on medical compliance. The symposium will be dedicated to the results from the national research programme Interframe-lv. The plenary session and the symposium will be followed by master classes conducted by international guest lecturers during which the attendees will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about SEM modelling and continue discussing medical compliance.

A panel discussion on visual methods in research will open the work session on 29 April. This discussion will be followed by three parallel sections with presentations conducted by both local and guest lecturers and masterclasses on topics such as psychological assessment, work with various client and patient groups, as well as matters of professional identity.

The conference will be held in Latvian and English.

Psychologists, healthcare specialists, supervisors, students and representatives of other professions within aid and education are welcome to attend.

The conference is scheduled to take place online. Due to the new format the conference programme is being revised. Registration details will be posted after the programme is finalised (until 1 April).

Participation: free of charge.

Active participants will receive a certificate for presenting their research paper. Passive participants will receive 36 continuing education points (12 points for each day and four additional academic hours for each master class). The certificates will be sent to the e-mail address specified in the registration form.
