The Workshop on Health Development Projects took place in Valmiera at the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences on 5 April 2024 with the aim to promote the development and implementation of interdisciplinary research and innovation projects in the regions.

Aelita Zīle will defend her doctoral dissertation on 21 May at 15.00 in an open meeting of the RSU Legal Sciences doctoral committee in the Hippocrates Auditorium in the RSU Main Building (16 Dzirciema iela) and on Zoom. Her dissertation is titled “Forensic Aspects of the Study of Latent Papillae Pattern Prints on the Epidermis of a Deceased Person”.

The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Senate has approved amendments to the University’s Code of Ethics, upholding professional ethics requirements for University staff. Two new principles have been added to the RSU Code of Ethics: the principle of human dignity and the principle of fairness. Ensuring the professional development of students and staff is defined as an obligation in the Code.

Viral hepatitis A is an infectious liver disease caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV). HAV was very common in Latvia until the mid-1990s, but the number of cases decreased in 2000 and continued to decrease until 2007, when the number of confirmed cases was at its lowest. However, there were several outbreaks of HAV between 2008 and early 2010 and between 2017 and 2018, therefore

the risk of the infection spreading still exists.
