Barbara Oakley

Barbara Oakley is a renowned researcher and professor at Oakland University whose long and unconventional career is difficult to sum up. Initially, she intended to become a linguist before enlisting in the U.S. Army and studying Russian. After serving as a Signal Officer and rising to the rank of Captain, she transitioned to studying engineering. Oakley then obtained a B.A. in Slavic Languages and Literature from the University of Washington and later earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

The aim of the workshop is to highlight importance of data, opportunities and news, as well as to encourage researchers to already existing data in their research.

During the workshop, we will inform participants about the developments of research data management, new infrastructures and possible cooperation in designing and submitting projects in Horizon Europe project calls.

Prestigious US Award Acknowledges RSU's Excellence in Collaborative Research

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) was honoured with an award at a Vertically Integrated Projects Consortium meeting held at the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. This recognition commended RSU for its successful collaboration with European universities and its expertise in integrating research into the study process. RSU stood out as the sole European university to receive such a prestigious accolade at the Atlanta-based meeting. The Vertically Integrated Projects (VIPs) serve as an innovative platform that connects research with the study process.
