In order to draw public attention to diabetes, one of the most common non-communicable diseases and one of the most frequent causes of death in Latvia and worldwide, students of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) are launching a new initiative by organising Diabetes Days in cooperation with Rīga Plaza shopping mall.
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Union (SU) Annual Award Golden Horseshoe is an annual event in which students, RSU representatives and collaboration partners, who have contributed to the development of RSU and RSU SU, are nominated and honoured. On 23 March, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Communication celebrated joining an international network of media research institutions European Journalism Observatory (EJO) with a public lecture Media and Communication Under the Lens: What the European Journalism Observatory Observes and Studies.
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is organising a crash course in Latvian for teens and adults.
The course will be led by two university instructors, Una (RSU) and Anna (RTU). Both are experienced in teaching Latvian as second language, fluent in English and Russian, and willing to contribute.

On Tuesday, 29 March at 10:00, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and Ariel University (Israel), will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at 16 Dzirciema iela that will open up cooperation opportunities for students, academic staff, and scientists from both universities.
The MoU will be signed by RSU Rector Professor Aigars Petersons and the President of Ariel University, Professor Yehuda Shoenfeld.

The Annual Award in Medicine ceremony took place for the 12th time this year. On Saturday, 12 March, a record number of 22 awards were presented. Arvīds Irmejs won Person of the Year in Medicine 2021. He is the Head of the Breast Unit at Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital (PSCUH), an oncologist and breast surgeon, an Associate Professor at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Department of Surgery and a leading researcher at the Institute of Oncology.
