February is not only the month of love at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). The RSU Student Union (Studējošo pašpārvalde, SP) and the International Student Association (ISA) have designated February to be Integration Month.
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has announced its ambitions for developing and supporting sports at the university by investing in the construction of a new sports complex, cooperating with the VEF Rīga basketball team, and attracting talented professional players. Jānis Blūms, the Chairman of the VEF Rīga Council, joined the University last autumn to coordinate sports activities and attract sponsors.
Thelma Guðný Ragnarsdóttir is a full-time dentistry student at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). She is currently in her second semester.
Where are you from, and how did you end up choosing Dentistry at RSU?
I'm from Vopnafjörður in north-eastern Iceland. It's a very small town of about 750 people! I have a Latvian boyfriend whom I met when he came to my town to play football. We've been together for about 4 years and I found RSU through him.
Ilze Maldupa from Latvia and Sergio Uribe from Chile met almost 15 years ago thanks to how international research has become and have since gotten into the habit of parsing scientific concepts at the dinner table and adapted to life in one another’s countries. We met with the lecturer and the visiting professor at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) shortly before Valentine’s Day to talk about how they manage to balance their professional and private lives.
In accordance with Paragraph 7 of the Regulations regarding the commencement of activities of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Council, RSU Rector, Professor Aigars Pētersons has convened the first meeting of the RSU Council on Wednesday, 23 February. RSU Rector Prof. Aigars Pētersons will convene the first meeting of the RSU Council on 23February, 2022. The council will elect a Chairperson and a Deputy Chairperson at the meeting.
Female scientists from the Baltic States are invited to apply for the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talents Programme until 17 March. Female scientists will have the opportunity to receive this award for their work in various fields of science for the 18th time in Latvia.
At the end of 2021, RSU switched to using a new student portal – CampusM. This portal was developed by ExLibris Group, which also provides the RSU Library with their catalogue Aleph and the unified information search engine Primo. The new student portal still retains its current name MyRSU. Students can access it using via the link my.rsu.lv and sign in with their RSU username and password.
