Applications Open for Annual L’Oréal-UNESCO Award for Women in Science
Female scientists from the Baltic States are invited to apply for the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talents Programme until 17 March. Female scientists will have the opportunity to receive this award for their work in various fields of science for the 18th time in Latvia.
Ivars Kalviņš, President of the Latvian Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talents Programme Jury, points out that this scholarship promotes young female scientists and makes a significant contribution to building a balanced and inclusive society by supporting the best talents.
‘We are convinced that this year's competition will provide us with many high-quality research projects and that the applicants will promote Latvian science in the world,’ Kalviņš says.
Seven outstanding female scientists from the Baltic States will be awarded 6,000 EUR for their contribution in various fields. In addition, one participant from each country will be nominated for the internationally recognised L’Oréal-UNESCO International Rising Talents programme. Young scientists from the fields of mathematics, computer science, and information science are particularly welcome to apply.
