Emma Tenge-Rietberg is one of the founders of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) US Student Association, and the Head of Cultural Events. She is currently in her 4th semester at RSU, and founded the society in 2019.
The closing event of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Union (SP, Studējošo pašpārvalde) council elections took place online on 14 November. After two weeks of applications and a week of voting, the new members of the SU council were finally announced. 1,625 students voted this year.
To promote innovation and encourage students, alumni and other interested parties to develop leadership skills and take their first steps towards entrepreneurship, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has launched its Business Incubator B-Space. B-Space is a safe environment where participants can develop brand new business ideas. Prospective entrepreneurs without a business idea but who have a desire to work in the field of business and innovation are also welcome at B-Space.
In order to reduce the health risk to Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) students, staff and visitors, as well as the risk to the continuity of studies, research and scientific activity at RSU, additional safety measures have been implemented from 18 December. The new measures are based on the additional restrictions set by the Cabinet of Ministers on 17 December.
The following additional epidemiological safety measures were introduced at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) on 3 December in order to reduce the health risk to RSU students, staff and visitors, as well as the risk to the continuity of research and scientific activity at RSU.

For the period of 23 November 2020 to 30 January 2021, the study process will take place remotely, with the following exceptions:
An online discussion “Christianity and nationalism in contemporary Central and Eastern Europe” will take place at 18:00 EET on December 1 (Tuesday). Discussion participants: Giuseppe Tateo, Klāvs Sedlenieks, and Agita Misāne.

A year and a half ago, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) signed a partnership contract with Ziv Medical Center to establish a clinical training centre. This partnership enables RSU students to attend an orthopaedics course in Israel and learn from experienced specialists. The COVID-19 pandemic has not been an obstacle to this partnership; a new contract has been signed, and RSU students can undergo a ten-week clinical placement in the excellent trauma centre in northern Israel.

Latvijas Banka (the Bank of Latvia) has announced its annual Student Scientific Research Paper Competition. The aim of the competition is to promote identification and analysis of macroeconomic challenges in Latvia and the eurozone by involving talented young economists.
