Human Anatomy and Physiology (SL_101)
About Study Course
Objective
To facilitate the acquisition of theoretical knowledge about human normal anatomy and physiology. To give an idea of the impact of internal and external factors on the human body and its responses. To stimulate interest and understanding of epidemiology and research principles in medicine, so that the acquired knowledge serves as a basis for well-thought-out and comprehensible data analysis for a biostatistics specialist.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of human anatomy and biology.
Learning outcomes
Students will have good knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, describe the processes taking place in the body in relation to the functions of organs and the basic needs of the body. Students will be able to independently evaluate the impact of external and internal factors on the human body, as well as to predict the consequences of this effect. Students will master the first aid algorithm, as well as gain deeper knowledge about treatment options in medicine. Students will learn the basic principles of research, will be able to distinguish between types of research and evaluate the ethical relevance of research.
Students will be able to apply the acquired knowledge to carry out sound analysis of medical data, taking into account the history, physical examination, laboratory and imaging diagnostics data. Students will be able not only to statistically process data, but also to draw reasoned conclusions based on knowledge of argumentation and logic.
Based on the knowledge acquired in the course, students will be able to critically analyse and understand the research goals, tasks, selection criteria and their implementation. Students will be able to distinguish pathological conditions and put forward ideas about their aetiology based on knowledge of the normal functioning of the organism. Students will be able to professionally communicate with medical staff, understanding the terminology used and the situations described in the research to better analyse the data. After completing the course, students will independently learn and will be able to direct their development to justify decisions and, if necessary, to carry additional analysis.
