Exercising together with the whole of Latvia: RSU participates in Olympic Day for the first time

On Friday, 25 April, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will take part in the All-Latvian Olympic Day for the first time, organised by the Latvian Olympic Committee. From 9:50 to 10:05, all students, as well as academic and administrative staff, are invited to join a group exercise class either at RSU Inspiration Park or in front of the main entrance of the RSU Latvian Academy of Sport Education (RSU LASE) at 333 Brīvības gatve.

It will be a sporty morning, with a focus on participation and the joy of movement, rather than skill or competition. While this year marks RSU’s first time joining the event, RSU LASE is proudly continuing this beautiful tradition, which they first joined in 2012.

Join us! Start your day with movement, inspiration, and friendship. Everyone – students, academic and administrative staff, and others – is invited to exercise together with the whole of Latvia!

Olympic trivia challenge on Instagram

From 22 to 24 April, the RSU Student Union (Studējošo pašpārvalde, SP) invites you to participate in the Olympic trivia challenge on its Instagram account @rsusp. Test your knowledge of the Olympic movement for a chance to win prizes from the Latvian Olympic Academy. The most knowledgeable participants will be honoured during the morning exercise session on 25 April.

The event in Latvia is organised by the Latvian Olympic Committee, with RSU SP collaborating with the Latvian Olympic Academy to implement it at RSU.

A tradition

Olympic Day is part of a global movement organised by the International Olympic Committee since 1987. It has been celebrated in Latvia since 1992, having evolved into an annual occasion to promote the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect.

RSU staff, lecturers, and students will come together to embrace an active lifestyle.
