Guest lectures on topical social medicine issues
The Statistics Unit of the RSU Faculty of Medicine is organising guest lectures on social determinants of medicine and their analyses 5–7 December at 9 Kronvalda Boulevard, Auditorium P-11, Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare. The lectures will be presented by Ieva Reine, PhD in social medicine, researcher at Uppsala University, Sweden.
The lecturer holds a master’s degree in psychology and public health; she has been awarded a doctoral degree in public health and a qualification in gender studies. Ms Reine is a Swedish social insurance expert, draft law reviewer, supervisor of academic work at diverse levels, author of multiple publications and a frequent speaker at diverse international conferences, and symposium and project participant.
Within the framework of the guest lecture week, Ieva Reine will hold three lectures in Latvian:
Monday, 5 December 12:15 – 15:30: Social determinants of health from the gender perspective – how and why they should be applied?
Tuesday, 6 December 12:15–15:30: Challenges of the public health approach in studies on socially marginalised groups
Wednesday, December 7, 12:15–15.30: PSM (Propensity score matching) in regression analysis
