To promote the rational use of research infrastructure, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) launched the Erasmus+ funded project, EASY GOV (EASY GOV Laboratory Management Platform), together with Universidade do Minho in Portugal last year. The project involves four countries in total and aims to develop an easy platform for research laboratories to procure and manage research equipment.

The team members representing RSU on the project are Rudīte Koka, Associate Professor at the Department of Biology and Microbiology, and Aija Strode, Senior Laboratory Assistant, who travelled to the University of Siena, Italy, in late September to discuss the progress of the project with the international partners.

In September 2022, participants in the EASYGOV project discussed what has been achieved so far at the University of Siena (Italy)

The proposed platform would be useful for scientific laboratories from any specialisation - both managers and lab technicians – in any European Union country. It will help to better coordinate collaboration, information exchange, and the use of different resources, including facilities and equipment.

A demo version of the platform is expected to be presented in the first half of 2023 in all partner universities, including at RSU.
