Learn About Modern Cardiac Surgery Techniques at RSU Student Conference

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is organising the practical seminar on surgical operation techniques “Insight into modern cardiac surgery” on 24 March. The seminar, which takes place as part of the International Student Conference (ISC2022), will give medical students at RSU the opportunity to learn about current issues in the field under the guidance of specialists from the Centre of Cardiac Surgery at Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital (PSCUH).

The seminar has always been very popular among students. The PSCUH Centre of Cardiac Surgery in cooperation with Johnson & Johnson will introduce the seminar’s participants with modern cardiac surgery and the diversity of suturing materials, surgical threads, and needles. After the theoretical part of the seminar, students will have an opportunity to test their practical skills and surgical techniques by operating pig hearts.

Participation at the seminar is free of charge and all participants will be awarded a certificate. The seminar is organised by the Centre of Cardiac Surgery at Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital with the support of Johnson & Johnson and the RSU Student Union.
