We are pleased to announce that our colleagues, Acting Lecturer Larisa Savrasova and Assistant Professor Darja Ņesteroviča, have been awarded the prestigious Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation (BITF) scholarship.

This scholarship will enable them to modernise their study courses, providing even better opportunities for our students.

Larisa Savrasova highlights that applying for the BITF target scholarship was a valuable opportunity to enhance the Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases course at the RSU Institute of Public Health and modernise it through digital solutions. She plans to update the teaching process by introducing interactive methods, such as simulations, to help students gain practical knowledge. Additionally, she aims to develop supplementary materials and practical tasks that will allow students to apply their knowledge in real-life situations, better preparing them for a successful professional career.

Although this process presents challenges, such as ensuring student motivation and active engagement, Larisa is confident that innovative approaches and interactive methods will make the course both stimulating and engaging for all students.

'What I enjoy most is the opportunity to inspire students and provide them with knowledge that will support their professional careers.' – Larisa Savrasova.

Meanwhile, Darja Ņesteroviča has applied for the BITF scholarship for the second time. During her first application, together with her mentor and lecturer, Guna Semjonova, PhD, she modernised the Biomechanics course for students of the Faculty of Rehabilitation. This time, she plans to update the Research Methodology course at the RSU Institute of Public Health to better align with the needs of sports science.

She has observed that students in the sports field require a different approach. To address this, Darja plans to develop practical, interactive tasks that will allow students to grasp research principles through hands-on experience. The newly developed materials will be valuable not only for preparing bachelor’s theses but also for working with professional athletes in a sports laboratory.

She highlights that research requirements in sports science differ from those in physiotherapy or clinical research, making it essential to adapt the methodology course to meet industry-specific standards and labour market needs.

The BITF scholarship provides Darja with access to a broad network of high-level specialists—including IT professionals, operators, educators, and other experts—who will contribute to creating an effective environment for course modernisation.

'I am motivated by the opportunity to interact with students and follow their academic growth. It is especially exciting to integrate the latest research into the learning process, making it relevant and practically applicable.' – Darja Ņesteroviča

We are extremely happy about their achievements and wish them the best of luck in these course modernisation processes!
