The Ombudsman of the Republic of Latvia has invited students, lecturers and staff at various universities to participate in a survey on experiences of sexual harassment in higher education institutions in Latvia.

The survey is open to everyone, including those who have not experienced sexual harassment.

The research is being conducted by the Ombudsman's Office in cooperation with the research company Berg Research and the Student Union of Latvia. The aim is to conduct an in-depth study of sexual harassment at higher education institutions in Latvia, considering the public reaction to the information on instances of sexual harassment that were publicly reported in early 2024.

Participation in this study will provide valuable data on the real situation and make an important contribution to creating a safe and respectful environment in higher education institutions.

The survey is available in both Latvian and English and will take approximately 5-15 minutes to complete. The survey guarantees the anonymity and confidentiality of all respondents, and data will only be analysed in aggregate form.

Your cooperation and support is an important step towards creating a safer academic environment!

If you have any questions about the scope and purpose of the study, please contact Dace Cālīte, a sociologist at the Ombudsman's Office of the Republic of Latvia (email: dace[pnkts]caliteattiesibsargs[pnkts]lv).

For technical questions, please contact Jeļena Vorobjova, researcher at Berg Research (phone: +371 29590064, email: jelena[pnkts]vorobjovaatbergresearch[pnkts]lv).
