Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Orientation Week, which is organised by the University’s International Department, starts on Tuesday 30 January. Parallel to these more official events, the Head of Integration and Sports Wafaa Farhath Valiyakathu and her assistant Mazeen Mohamed from the RSU International Student Association (ISA) are organising the bi-annual Freshers’ Week that starts on the same day.

The first event of Freshers’ Week on Tuesday 30 January is a scavenger hunt in the Old Town. The scavenger hunt will take place at 17.00 – 19.30 on the RSU main campus. Students will have the opportunity to explore our wonderful campus through various team building activities and challenges. This is a free event. Meeting in Auditorium 1, C block.

The next day, 31 January, is game night that starts at18.00 at Yuranka Games (2nd floor of the mall Bērnu Pasaule in the city centre). This is a free event and there will be snacks! The first drinks (soft drinks and water) will be provided for free, but any drinks purchased afterwards will have to be paid for.

On Thursday, 1 February, ISA is organising bowling at 17.00 at Pepsi Centrs (Uzvaras bulvāris 10). Bowling costs 5 EUR/person.

Later on Thursday, 1 February, ISA is organising a night out from 20.30 onwards to experience Riga night life! The meeting point is the Laima Clock (Aspazijas bulvāris 20) next to the freedom monument. Please be aware that the event is strictly 18+ and you must have a valid ID with you. This event is a paid event - 16 EUR/ person, cash only.

Finally, on Saturday 3 February, Freshers’ Week comes to an end with a game of laser tag - 16.00 – 19.00 at Lazerdog, Ūdens iela 23k-1. This event will be organised like a tournament with group stage matches and playoffs. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams! This is paid event - 10 EUR/ person.
