As the Paris Olympic Games begin, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) wishes the Latvian Olympic team great success, hoping they delight and inspire Latvian supporters with their outstanding results. We particularly keep our fingers crossed for the 22 students and graduates from RSU and the RSU Latvian Academy of Sport Education (LASE), who have travelled to the Olympic Games as part of the Latvian Olympic delegation. We wish them success, good health, and a strong spirit in their quest for Olympic achievements.

Among the participants are three athletes who are currently studying or have graduated from RSU LASE, alongside nineteen members of the Olympic team’s management, coaches, medical, and technical staff who are RSU and LASE graduates.

“We are proud that Latvia has so many outstanding professionals in Olympic sports. We are especially pleased for our graduates and students representing the national team at the Paris Olympic Games.

This is an excellent testament not only to their personal abilities but also to our universities’ ability to give these sports and healthcare talents the opportunity to develop and grow to the highest level of excellence on an international scale.”

said RSU Vice-Rector for Administration and Development Toms Baumanis.

Currently, pole vaulter Valters Kreišs is a full-time sports science student at the RSU LSPA. While, shooter Agate Rašmane and javelin thrower Līna Mūze-Sirmā are among the academy graduates.
