RSU Library Open Access Loan available 24/7
Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) constantly thinks of ways and means for making the study environment more accessible, convenient and user-friendly. We have made another step forward and from 5 February the RSU library on the ground floor of the RSU main building at 16 Dzirciema iela will be open 24/7 (Open Access Loan and the reading room). Moreover, the terms of use have been revised only for the hours (e.g. at night and on Sundays) that the library is monitored by a security guard.
From Monday to Friday (8.30–19.00) and on Saturdays (10.00–17.00) you can consult a librarian, while during the remaining opening hours the library is monitored by a security guard. During the hours when there is no librarian, the visitors can use computers and borrow/return books by themselves using the open access loan.
RSU students and employees must use their RSU identity cards to open the RSU entrance doors and to access the library in the late evening hours and on Sundays.
What are the terms of use to be followed at the library in the absence of a librarian?
Present your student/employee’s ID to the security officer and enter your name in the visitor registration log.
The security guard will provide you with a locker key and folder for the items required for your stay at the library, as you will have to leave the remaining belongings in a locker opposite the library.
Considering the working hours of the RSU cloakroom at 16 Dzirciema iela are from 7.30 to 21.00, if you visit the library outside the cloakroom working hours, you may use the clothes stand next to the lockers monitored by the security guard.
When leaving the library, sign your name in the visitor registration log, return the locker key and the yellow folder to the security officer.
For RSU students and employees who can show a RSU identity card, the library is open 24/7, any other persons may use the library by presenting his/her personal ID from Monday to Friday (8.30-19.00) and on Saturdays (10.00 – 17.00).
