RSU students awarded an Olympiad prize in Russia

According to the Russian Society of Medicine Historians, two RSU international medical students, Carl Christoph Pott and Jan Peter William Himmels, won the Jury’s prize at the 3rd Russian Olympiad in Medicine History which took place in St. Petersburg in November 2015. The winners are invited to visit medical museums in Moscow in August 2016. We congratulate our students upon this remarkable acknowledgement!

The Olympiad was held in two rounds. First, participants were asked to prepare a short presentation of their study; in the second round, they had to describe a particular exhibit from the collection of St. Petersburg’s Museum of Military Medicine. One of the Olympiad’s supporting organisations, the Rīga-based Pauls Stradiņš Museum of History of Medicine, was represented by its deputy scientific director, professor Juris Salaks (RSU), who gave a lecture to the participants.
