RSU team achieves remarkable results in Lattelecom Riga marathon

In this year’s Lattelecom Riga marathon race the team from Rīga Stradiņš university (RSU) demonstrated outstanding results – in total 212 team members, competing in all four traditional races (marathon, half-marathon, 10 km and 6 km). With the Finnish student Jaakko Nieminen crossing the finish line after 31 minutes and 29 seconds in the 10 km race, RSU was also represented on the winners’ podium.

The largest RSU representation with 87 participants was in the 10 km distance and almost the same number of team members conquered the half-marathon distance – 80, with 37 participants taking the 6 km race and 8 classical marathon distance runners, which is so far the highest RSU participation in this event.

In aggregate, the members of RSU team covered a distance of 3117 km which is by 958 km more than last year when our team conquered 2159 km, ranking RSU among ten largest Latvian marathon teams.
