The presentation of the Research Latvia 2025 calendar and travelling exhibition, created by the Ministry of Education and Science (MoES), took place in an inspiring atmosphere, reports the science communication platform Researchlatvia.gov.lv. The interactive calendar showcases 12 of Latvia's leading scientific institutions and their researchers in both digital and traditional formats.

Their outstanding research achievements highlight Latvia's significance in both the European Research Area and globally. From Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), this year's calendar features Renāte Ranka, Tenured Professor at the RSU Faculty of Pharmacy and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Public Health.

Latvian Minister of Education and Science, Anda Čakša, said at the launch of the calendar:

‘For the eighth consecutive year, the Research Latvia calendar has become a guide to the achievements of Latvian science. It inspires, fosters new ideas, and reminds us of the crucial role science plays in the sustainable development of our society.

As an important strategic communication tool, the exhibition, calendar, and video stories about Latvia's remarkable scientific personalities not only highlight achievements but also bring us closer to our goal—a knowledge-driven society. May today’s science continue to create, inspire, and propel us forward!’

The calendar was launched at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, where the travelling exhibition will remain until 29 January. Throughout the year, the exhibition will be displayed at various universities and other public and cultural venues across Latvia.

By scanning the QR codes, anyone can access all 12 video stories. This initiative not only promotes science but also strengthens the public’s connection to the scientific world.

At the opening ceremony of Research Latvia 2025, the science communication platform ResearchLatvia was awarded the first Member of ResearchLatvia certificate. The 12 scientific institutions featured in the calendar received this certificate in recognition of their important role in the development of Latvian science.
