Ways to Expand Use of Data Discussed at International SHARE Meeting
On 3-5 May, the international meeting of the SHARE coordinators took place in Iași, Romania. SHARE Latvia Research Coordinator Aija Bukova-Žideļūna and SHARE Latvia Data Coordinator Diāna Baltmane represented Latvia at the event.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss the current issues of the study, the strategy and management of data collection, as well as the challenges and possible changes in the next waves. The participants discussed the possibilities to expand the use of the SHARE database, including for new studies, as well as the studies that have been carried out so far based on the SHARE data and their most relevant results.
Latvia has been involved in the SHARE study since 2017, when the seventh wave of the international study was implemented. Data collection in Latvia will continue to be led by researchers from the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Institute of Public Health.
