Guest Lecture by US Professor on the Role of Media in Covering American Foreign Policy and Military Information

Tyrone Shaw, Northern Vermont University Professor of Journalism (USA), is visiting Rīga and will conduct guest lectures and workshops at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Communication.

Everyone is welcome to attend the lecture titled 'Politics, Propaganda, the Pentagon and the Press: a history of the US media's role in covering American foreign policy and the military' on Thursday, 23 March, at 18:00.

Everyone interested is welcome to join RSU students and other participants in the RSU main building (16 Dzirciema iela) Block B, Room 408.

About the lecturer

Tyrone Shaw has visited RSU several times in the last decade. Previously, the sociologist and former media practitioner has conducted seminars for students of the Faculty of Communication, as well as given public lectures on topics such as the concentration of media ownership, the US media system and the role of the media during the US presidential election campaign, and conflict zones in Eastern Europe. Professor Shaw is in charge of the Communication and Media programme at Northern Vermont University.
