Newly elected professors and associate professors receive their diplomas

On 20 June, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Rector Prof. Aigars Pētersons awarded diplomas to the University’s newly elected professors and associate professors. 

‘Today, the doors to your careers as professors have been flung open! You have earned it through your hard work.

We have evaluated the quality of each person’s individual contributions and career paths as researchers. Excellence is not awarded for life, it must be demonstrated in the work you put in daily. We are proud of you!’ emphasised Prof. Pētersons, addressing the participants of the festive ceremony. 

Iveta Dzīvīte-Krišāne and Vitolds Mackēvičs received their diplomas as professor at the ceremony. Diplomas were also awarded to the new associate professors Ģirts Šalms, Karina Palkova, Romāns Putāns, Ruta Jakušonoka, Madara Auzenbaha, Daiga Behmane, Elita Poplavska, Ieva Ziediņa, and Dace Pjanova.
