Assistant Professor Romāns Putāns, Head of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Department of International Business and Economics, speaks about the first semester of the International Business and Start-up Entrepreneurship study programme. He describes outcomes as having been very successful despite the pandemic, saying that studying remotely has not affected results negatively. The programme is being implemented in English and the first group of students included people from both Latvia, as well from the USA and Cameroon.

At the end of the first semester, students created several videos and even a board game about their study programme and about RSU in general.

‘I can say with great confidence that what we planned on paper is what is being implemented: we achieved some of our expectations, and even exceeded some,’ says Asst. Prof. Putāns, Head of the International Business and Start-up Entrepreneurship study programme.

This programme is one of six new internationally competitive study programmes that RSU plans to develop with co-financing from the European Social Fund and the state budget by 2023. It is being developed as part of the project Reducing study programme fragmentation and promoting study internationalisation at Rīga Stradiņš University (Project No 8.2.1.0/18/A/014).
