The inauguration ceremony for the Rector of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), Professor Aigars Pētersons’ second term in office is being held in the presence of a wide circle of the university’s staff and guests on Friday, 31 March. Prof. Pētersons was re-elected as Rector on 1 January 2023 and will remain in office until the end of 2027. He was re-elected by a unanimous vote of the members of the Constituent Assembly on 23 November 2022.

On Friday, 31 March, the inauguration ceremony for the Rector of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), Professor Aigars Pētersons’ second term in office was held in the presence of a wide circle of the university’s staff and guests. Prof. Pētersons was re-elected as Rector on 1 January 2023 and will remain in office until the end of 2027. He was re-elected by a unanimous vote of the members of the Constituent Assembly on 23 November 2022.

We invite everyone to visit the exhibition Analogue vs Digital that can be seen in the display cases by the entrance of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) History Museum next to the Great Hall (16 Dzirciema iela, Rīga).

Analogue systems have been increasingly and rapidly replaced by digital ones, and we are experiencing a digital transformation. This transformation makes our work processes and communication easier, saves time, gives us more freedom and enables us to become more competitive. We are therefore able to do much more than before.

RSU Research Week 2023 Themed Around Climate Change

The programme of various conferences and events of this year’s Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Research Week, which takes place from 27 to 31 March, tackles issues related to the communication, perception, and storytelling around climate change. Due to the war in Ukraine and issues in the energy industry, climate change – one of the most pressing issues of our time – and related issues are of increasing public interest.

Elīna Kalniņa will defend her doctoral dissertation in an open meeting of the RSU Clinical Medicine Degree Committee on 19 May. Her dissertation is titled 'Clinical Variability of Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease and its Association with Neurofilament and Genetic Type of Disease'.

Kristīne Šneidere will defend her doctoral dissertation in an open meeting of the RSU Psychology Degree Committee on 24 May. Her dissertation is titled 'Relationship between Cognitive Reserve, Cognitive Functioning and Brain Volumetry in Non-Demented Older Adults'.

RSU to Open Largest Education and Research Centre in University’s History

On Friday, 31 March, at 14:00, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Pharmaceutical Education and Research Centre will be officially opened in Riga, at 21 Konsula iela. The new building complements the RSU campus in Pārdaugava and is the largest and most technically complex building in the University’s 70-year history.

 ‘This is not just a new building.

It is a state-of-the-art, world-class science hub to concentrate our knowledge and new pharmaceutical technologies that would help develop innovative solutions and create new dosage forms.
