Christmas

When we wish each other a happy Christmas, then we foresee that Christmas should be a happy time. But is this always the case? And should we always be promoting happiness at Christmas time? Lecturer of the Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare and the Department of Health Psychology and Peadagogy of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and psychologist Indra Majore-Dūšele stresses that it is essential to be in harmony with oneself at Christmas time by doing something that gives a sense of satisfaction and purpose.

RSU students involved in running charity projects

As the end of the year approaches, a series of charity activities have been held at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). This Christmas, over 120 children at Māras centrs and crisis centres outside Rīga will receive packages with toys, games and sweets, prepared by RSU students. These gifts were donated during the Christmas Toy Drive charity campaign, run by the international students.

Research Week Scientist Džeina Mežale: new questions always arise in science

Džeina Mežale is a young researcher who already promoted science among RSU students during her studies by organising various scientific events within and outside the University. She was the person who, in cooperation with the RSU Student Union team, transformed the RSU Student Conference into an annual international event and the largest student conference in the Baltic States. Currently, she is a lecturer at the RSU Department of Pathology and a 3rd year student in the Doctoral study programme Medicine.
