Children’s Health Day 2018 and International Scientific Paediatric Student Conference

The annual Children’s Health Day, organised by the Latvian Association of Paediatrics will be held at Rīga Stradiņš University and the RSU Medical Education Technology Centre on 2 and 3 November. Thanks to the RSU Paediatric Student Interest Group, the event will include the International Scientific Paediatric Student Conference, to which all students interested in paediatrics are invited.

Philipp Konrad is a 6th year (12th semester) student from Frankfurt, Germany, currently studying in the RSU study programme Medicine. He has been an active international student and while living here in Rīga has not only enjoyed spending his spare time, when not studying, in the countryside in Latvia and its regional towns but has also shown initiative and helped found Rotaract Club Rīga International, a Rotary-sponsored youth club which focuses on fellowship and community service.

On 10 and 11 October with the support of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), an organising committee conference will be held for the multidisciplinary network Indoor Living Space Improvement: Smart Habitat for the Elderly (SHELD-ON), together with three working group meetings in the Rixwell Hotel Konventa Sēta  in Rīga. Signe Tomsone, Dean of the RSU Faculty of Rehabilitation is representing Latvia in this project, financed by COST (European Cooperation of Science and Technology).

On 9 November the 5th Conference on Rare Diseases will be held in the RSU Great Hall, organised by the Latvian Rare Diseases Specialists' Association and the Department of Internal Diseases at the RSU Faculty of Medicine.

The aim of the conference is to provide current and future specialists with theoretical and practical knowledge on rare diseases, their diagnosis and treatment options.
