Pediatrijas cīņas

On 21 April, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) was the battlefield for the first intellectual battle of paediatricians organised by the RSU Paediatric Interest Group with the support of the Latvian Paediatric Association.  In all, there were 35 participants – prospective paediatricians, students from the Faculty of Medicine interested in paediatrics and one resident.

On 18 May – International Museum Day – from 11:00 to 14:00 a campaign "Leave a legacy from your era in the museum!", will be held in the RSU lobby at 16 Dzirciema iela, during which we invite all RSU students, teaching staff and employees to donate to the university's museum collection items that are either work- or study-related, together with the story that goes with them. They will be added to the RSU museum collection and will provide an insight for future generations into the history of the university. 

A retrospective of the conference Health and Personal Development: an Interdisciplinary Approach

On 19–20 April Rīga Stradiņš University hosted the fourth International Scientific – Practical Conference organised by the RSU Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare Department of Health Psychology and Paedagogy: Health and Personal Development: an Interdisciplinary Approach. The conference was well attended, with over 350 researchers and professionals, students and representatives from different professional fields taking part in the conference.

The traditional sport and active leisure festival Taurenis will be held on 3 and 4 June at the RSU sport and recreation base Taurene.

There will be traditional sports games in teams and individually, as well as a talent contest and, of course, a party until the first rays of the sun! Join us!

Arnis Eņģelis

For a lifetime of valuable contribution to the development of paediatric surgery and children’s health promotion, professor at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Medicine, head of the Department of Paediatric Surgery and surgeon at the Children’s Clinical University Hospital, Arnis Eņģelis has been nominated and on 28 September 2018 will be presented with the Prof. Aleksandrs Bieziņš Award which is the highest recognition in paediatric surgery.

Olga Zemļanuhina

Olga Zemļanuhina is 4th year medical resident of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Continuing Education, study programme Residency in Medicine in the speciality: anaesthesiologist, reanimatologist. Olga is active in expanding the boundaries of knowledge offered by the university and has demonstrated excellence when participating in various national and international conferences, for example: the 7th International Baltic Congress of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine, where her presentation was recognised as second best.
