Aim

To study and identify security threats and risks in the political, defense, public, socio-economic, and informational fields, and to develop conceptual guidelines and strategies for their prevention. This project aims to make a significant contribution to the field of security threat and risk prevention, aligning with the criteria of scientific excellence.

Description

Given the security challenges of the future, studies with the potential to develop and apply an interdisciplinary approach are becoming increasingly important. Security in this context is comprehensive, encompassing a broad spectrum of relations in the political, defense, public, socio-economic, and information environments. The significance of the study's results will be reflected in the conclusions and strategies developed for preventing security threats under modern conditions. These strategies will be based on in-depth interdisciplinary research, scientific opinions, political planning documents, and institutional practices. The research findings will be integrated into the training of law enforcement officers and security specialists and will be used to improve curricula, ensuring the effective and high-quality development of the education system. The results will be relevant and applicable to everyone involved in the development of national defense and security policy, both scientifically and practically.

Leader

Doctor of Law, professor at Rīga Stradiņš University. He has extensive academic and professional experience, working both as a university professor and as a researcher in various national and international projects. He is the author of numerous publications, scientific articles, and books on security and legal issues.


Researchers

Doctor of Law, assistant professor at Rīga Stradiņš University. She has published numerous significant scientific articles covering various aspects of law, including human rights and security policy. Her research work focuses on legal issues and their practical application in modern society.


Doctor of Law, researcher at Rīga Stradiņš University, and assistant professor at Daugavpils University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She is the author of more than 30 scientific publications on national and public security topics and has long-term professional experience in law enforcement.


Security expert with 18 years of experience in the Ministries of Defense and Interior. He has headed the Legal Department and Crisis Management Department of the Ministry of Defense and currently heads the State Defense Service Department. He was an adviser at the Latvian representation in NATO, a defense attaché in the United Kingdom, and a non-resident resilience adviser at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. He is also a researcher and acting lecturer at Rīga Stradiņš University.


Acting lecturer at Rīga Stradiņš University and doctoral student in the Social Sciences sub-programme 'Political Science.' His research focuses on domestic politics, including political parties, elections, and state governance. He has professional experience working in parliament and government.


Doctoral student in the Law sub-programme of the Social Sciences doctoral program at Rīga Stradiņš University. He holds an academic master's degree in social sciences in law and works at the Financial Intelligence Service as an expert. His previous work experience is related to the communication industry.
